PROFILE
Alfie Jones is an actor, writer and director from the West Midlands whose work sits between theatre, film and live performance. His work explores how people search for connection, meaning and alternative ways of living within increasingly unstable social and political landscapes. He is particularly interested in visual storytelling, technology, music, ensemble practice and the relationship between individual experience and wider social change.
Alfie is founder of COGGIA, an award-winning multidisciplinary theatre company formed by a group of LAMDA graduates in 2022. Working across performance, writing and direction, COGGIA places the ensemble and collaboration at the centre of its practice, drawing on European ensemble traditions and incorporating live cinema, projection, choreography and new technologies into its work.
As a writer and performer, Alfie's debut play This Blighted Star premiered at Underbelly at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2025. The production was Offie-nominated and won the Shedinburgh Future Award.
His work as a performer includes The Breach at Hampstead Theatre and Teenage Dick at the Donmar Warehouse. He trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), graduating with a BA (Hons) in Professional Acting in 2021.
In 2026, Alfie wrote and directed The Late Utopians, presented by COGGIA at Underbelly Cowgate's Iron Belly as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The play was shortlisted for the Charlie Hartill Award.
He is currently developing new work with COGGIA, with ambitions to build productions that can move between the UK and internationally, particularly London and New York.
